Shopify Consultant in the Midlands

The Midlands is full of businesses that sell well offline and sell short online. If that sounds like yours, your Shopify store is the place to fix it.

I am Nigel Boulton. I run Pink Digital as an eCommerce consultancy and I work with businesses across the region, from established retailers and manufacturers in the West Midlands to growing online brands in the East. You deal with me directly, not an account manager passing messages back and forth.

Most stores I am asked to look at are not failing. They are simply doing less than they should. The traffic is arriving and the products are good, but the store is not turning enough of that into orders. That gap is where the money is.

Let's talk

A good-looking store is not the same as a profitable one.

Plenty of Shopify stores look the part and still under-earn. Design gets the attention. Conversion, margin and repeat purchase are what actually pay the bills. I focus on the second list.

Where I can help

My work covers the full life of a store, depending on where you are:

  • Building a new Shopify store on solid foundations
  • Auditing an existing store and finding what holds it back
  • Lifting conversion so more of your visitors actually buy
  • Tidying up product data, search, navigation and checkout
  • Joining Shopify to your stock, fulfilment and finance systems
  • Mapping out growth you can sustain, not a short burst

None of this is change for the sake of it. Each piece earns its place by moving a number that matters to you, whether that is order volume, average order value, margin or retention.

Let's Discuss Your Store

Why I recommend Shopify to most businesses

For the majority of Midlands businesses, Shopify is the practical answer. It is dependable, the running costs are predictable, and the support around it is mature. You are not betting the business on an obscure platform.

The catch is that Shopify rewards good setup and punishes lazy setup. Get the configuration wrong and the store quietly loses orders you never see. Get it right and it keeps converting in the background without you having to think about it.

In other words, the platform is rarely the deciding factor. The judgement and the build behind it are.

Covering the Midlands, West to East

I work with businesses throughout the Midlands, including Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford in the west, and Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Northampton in the east.

It is a region with real range. Long-standing manufacturers and wholesalers moving into direct sales. High-street retailers building a proper online arm. Independent brands scaling from a spare room to a warehouse. I have worked across that spread, so I tend to recognise the commercial situation you are in before you have finished describing it.

Being in the region helps with the practical side, but the value is the experience rather than the location. I work with businesses elsewhere in the UK on the same basis.

My way of working

There is no mystery to how I operate.

I start by getting to grips with the business itself. What you sell, who your customers are, where the revenue comes from and, just as importantly, where it leaks away.

From there I assess the store commercially. I identify what is costing you sales, then put those problems in the order that gives you the best return for the effort.

Then the work gets done, properly and without guesswork. You stay informed throughout, and every change is tied to a reason that shows up in your figures rather than a dashboard that looks busy but means little.

The output you care about is simple: more revenue, healthier margins and a better experience for the customer.

Let's discuss your brand

Who tends to work with me

The people I help most often are:

  • Owners and managing directors running the business day to day
  • eCommerce and online sales managers responsible for the numbers
  • Marketing and operations leaders who need the store to pull its weight

Put plainly, they are the people accountable for online performance who would rather get it right than spend months finding out the hard way.

Common questions about Shopify in the Midlands

Should I move my store to Shopify?

Only if it serves the business. When your current platform is the thing limiting growth, Shopify is usually the sounder long-term home. If what you have is working, I will say so. I am not interested in selling you a rebuild you do not need.

Can you improve a Shopify store I already have?

Yes, and a large share of my work is exactly that. I look at a live store, find where it is losing orders, and fix those issues in the order that pays off fastest.

How much does it cost?

That depends on the job. Reviewing and improving a store is a different scale of work to building one from scratch. Tell me your situation and your goals and I will give you a straight answer rather than a vague range.

Do you only work with Midlands businesses?

No. I am based in the region and work with a lot of local businesses, but I take on work across the UK. The Midlands focus simply reflects where a good part of my client base sits.

How soon will I see a difference?

Some fixes show up in your sales quickly. Others compound over time. I deal with the high-impact changes first, so you are not waiting months to see the work justify itself.
